Dating Advice About Social Skills

Dating Advice to Increase Social Skills

  1. Memorize Emily Post's Good Etiquette book.
Being socially retarded will embarrass yourself and those you are with. Knowing good etiquette will help you expand your social network.

  2. Bath or shower daily. Use deodorant if you have bad body odor.
Nobody will hang out with you if you smell bad. You may not be aware of your own body order because your nose may be immune to it. Better to ask friends and family to point it out.

  3. Brush your teeth and carry mints. Ask your friends to alert you if you have bad breath.
Everybody gets bad breath occasionally. It is very difficult to tell if you have bad breath. Better to brush your teeth, chew gum, or pop mints before talking to people. Brushing your teeth, dental flossing, and chewing sugar-free gum may also decrease your chances of getting cavity or gum disease.

  4. Do not pick your nose or pimples in public.
You may be with your soulmate but you just had to pick your nose or pimple in public bringing social humiliation to you and them. Be aware of these behaviors of habit and do them when you are alone.

  5. If you have dandruff, use dandruff shampoo. Always watch your shoulders if wearing dark shirts or jackets. Do not scratch your head in public.
Most people get dandruff occasionally. Unless you are constantly monitoring your shoulder and looking in the mirror, it is difficult to know. Best to use dandruff shampoo and ask your close friends to tell you. Also, wearing light color clothing can camouflage dandruff.

  6. Do not talk too much. Listening is a large part of having good communication skills.
You should learn to read nonverbal cues and monitor how much you talk. If you talk to little, you may appear to be a bore and may appear cold. If you talk too much, you may be a pest. Best to monitor the amount of talk of the other person and match that amount. Situations may call for you to listen more or talk more. Know which situations these are.

  7. Learn to schmooze. Get e-mail, instant messaging, a PDA, and a cell phone to keep in touch with friends.
Do not take your friends for granted. Having friends is powerful and allows you to escape bad relationship quickly, help you in your career, increase your odds of finding your soulmate, and allows you to be more selective. If you are too lazy to keep your friends then they may not be there for you when you need them. A quick email or phone call once and while can keep friendships from dying.
